| We Choose to Come Unto
Christ is one of seven pieces that I wrote for a musical youth
fireside for our Stake. This was the second piece I wrote when
I was driving back from the temple. When I wrote the piece, I
thought a lot about the pre-existence and it's relation to our lives
now. As the first verse states, we knew before we came to this
earth that Jesus Christ would be our Savior. And nothing
compares to hearing 45+ youth standing and singing "We are God's
Children... We know His plan. We chose to come..." Even
though I was asked to prepare a fireside for theme Come Unto Christ,
I felt strongly that I needed to add on to that theme a little.
I added in "choosing." After all, one of the reasons Christ
was chosen to be our Savior was so we could have agency.
Freedom to choose. And if we "choose" to come unto Christ" how
great will be our joy. |
